The ThinCut™ DiamondTuff™ blade with a substrate thickness of .012" is a good "in between" blade for semi-precious materials and where the cutting detail needs to be finer.

The standard DiamondTuff™ blade has a substrate thickness of .020" and is suitable for cutting hard materials like agates where the price of the material is generally low and material loss is not very important.
